THE VILLAGE: Bowness-on-Windermere is a short 5 minute walk from the Hall and has an abundance of shops and restaurants to suit all tastes and all ages. For lovers of Miss Potter and the Peter Rabbit stories The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction is right on the doorstep, and by taking the Ferry across to the other side of the Lake you can walk, or drive, to her beloved house Hilltop in Far Sawrey. In Bowness Bay you can relax at The Glebe, a large open green space, or take a boat trip on the Lake with the famous Windermere Lake Cruises - a must for any visit to the Lake District. Walk above the village to one of the Viewpoints and be amazed with the views. Tennis Courts, Crazy Golf, Pitch and Putt, Children's Softplay at Quayside Kids, Boat and Canoe Hire are all on offer in Bowness and within easy walking distance of the Hall.
